Are your dreams a liability?
"Are your dreams a liability?" I grew up with a fascination of cars. "Fast cars". From collecting dozens of hot wheels, hundreds of magazine cutouts and a few thousand car wallpapers, to owning a Ford Mustang: the journey has been fulfilling.
I used to listen to the exhaust sounds of the so called "fast cars" on YouTube just to tingle my senses and feeling closer to my dream. I'm not a rich brat. I come from a middle-class family and I have earned things in life with sheer labor and brute-force determination. However, I'm extremely lucky to have a supportive family that has trusted me in all my crazy decisions.
I remember when I started my journey to pursue MBA from abroad. Given my personal and emotional circumstances at that time, I didn't know how'll I make it. But, I NEVER GAVE UP. I kept on applying and a few months later, I was in the US pursuing MBA from the World's no.1 school for Entrepreneurship education, Babson College and was admitted with the highest scholarship, and an on-campus job. After my first year of MBA, I wasn't able to land an internship of my choice immediately. I left for India with no surety of what I'll end up doing over the summer. But, I NEVER GAVE UP. I kept applying and a few weeks later, I was in Malaysia, working for the World's no.1 LCC Airline, AirAsia
I have always trusted my faith more than my fears. If I had given up on my dreams, I wouldn't have left my first job to start a company. I would have never left the company to come to the US for MBA, I wouldn't have gone to work for an Airline company in a different country and never ever dared to buy my dream car. For the world, a car is a liability. For me, owning a Mustang was my dream and I REFUSED TO GIVE UP on my dreams and I'll do it again, and again, and again.
What's your dream? And what are you doing to make it a reality?
